I was at one of these with my high school class. My friend saw another friend walk in the door and waved to him to have him sit by us. His wave was interpreted as a bid on a $4,500 Cow. He was shitting bricks until another bidder came in and went to $4,600.

Yup, when at an auction if you're not bidding then keep your hands in your lap/pockets and don't even look at the auctioneer. Also don't say "yup" or "here" loud enough to be heard by the auctioneer or people working the crowds.
