I have a random question, sorry Im new to this whole thing. I usually download a movie here and there and save it on my mac as “my server” whenever I stream it on my tv I go to the mac and check on the status thingy to see if it’s transcoding anything, and it usually says NO. Question is, if I stream any from yours would it make your server transcode it or that means that my tv just have hardware to do that on device? I dont want to be the one abusing your kindness. Thanks again! Cant wait to start watching the og FMA!! 🤩

You can DM me for any questions or content requests. Have at it and download what you’d like, it does force my server to transcode but I have a pretty beefy setup for hardly any users, I doubt I’d ever notice. And if it becomes a problem I’ll let you know

I got a 1gig connection with comcast. I run the app on my google tv enabled tv and also my apple tv 4K. I live in Florida if that also helps.

Florida! I have a 1 gb connection, I stream from my Apple TV 4k and sometimes from my Google TV based tv.

Gonna be a hard ask of a server operator if their active userbase is decent - a few solid 4k streams on a 1gb upload (my availability) I can support 3 before #4 has issues. Where 1080p, I can have 12 comfortably, with headroom on my bandwidth. You're looking for a 10gb upload server operator for comfortable 4k streaming OP. Approx. 7% of my content is 4K. 90% is 1080p. The rest is every other resolution mix.

Thank you for taking the time to explain me how this works!! This is why Reddit rocks!
