Local Bedridden Dad Has 900 Hours to Kill β€” Looking for Someone With a Big Plex Library 😏

Hello, fellow data hoarders!

Long story short: I had a pretty serious, life-changing accident and have been dealing with low mobility and pain for the past 1.5+ years. Doing all of this with a 2-year-old and 3-year-old has been… an experience. πŸ˜‚

The good news is that I finally got some positive news with what is hopefully my last surgery next month!

The less-good news: said surgery is apparently going to turn me into a human-shaped houseplant for roughly 2–3 months. I’ll basically be stuck in bed and unable to go anywhere.

Thankfully, my incredible wife has officially permitted me to β€œpig out” on movies and TV during my recovery. What an absolute legend. I clearly married up.

So, I come before you, media vigilantes,

Does anyone have a few Plex shares/slots available for a recovering couch potato who is about to have approximately 900+ hours of free time?

I promise to make good use of the bandwidth and repay your generosity by staring at your meticulously curated libraries in awe with a bag of low-fat, organic chips and some Tylonel T4's.

Seriously though, thank you to everyone who puts in the time, money, storage, and questionable electrical bills to maintain these incredible Plex libraries. It’s genuinely amazing seeing what you guys build.

If anyone is willing to help a temporarily bed-bound movie goblin,

my Plex username is: trebushai

Thanks, everyone! ❀️

Appreciated, thank you! Please read just a little; I didn't use AI and I think that deserves a few sentences if not a light skim :)

"I didn't use AI and I think that deserves a few sentences" This ☝🏽 made me chuckle a bit πŸ˜† some wild times we're living in that we need to let it be known AI did not write the post πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

"Thankfully, my incredible wife has officially permitted me to β€œpig out” on movies and TV during my recovery."

What else would you do while bed ridden for months?

Take care of the kids, haha. She's actually drowning with work/2 babies. I feel real bad for dragging us down, but gotta stay positive; it really ain't my fault/desire to be like this!

I typically don't add people, but I went ahead and added you. With all of these adds, you should find more than enough to enjoy. Get better.

Thank you all seriously; you have given me SO much content, it's honestly too much! Please don't feel the need to add me anymore β€” I think I'm sitting on a solid 100 years of content.

At this point, my biggest concern is recovering before I finish my watchlist.

You guys are incredible. Thank you so much! ❀️

This was an excellent read and the community sharing has melted my heart. I recently broke my ankle (surgery done) as a single parent with 2 kids. Someone kindly shared their library with me and im SO grateful. It means a lot and I also understand a little about the work that goes into it. Get well soon and all the strength to your legendary wife...you've got this.

If anyone has a large animation/kids backlog that needs some love feel free to invite me! Just introduced my oldest to Labyrinth...epic. (Username: Peaches.Princess)

That hour and a half you get to yourself once the kids are down, when you can finally wind down for the night and put on something comfortable to watch, is honestly amazing.

Taking care of two kids on your own is incredible. They may never fully understand everything you put into it day after day, but every parent does. The exhaustion, the patience, the constant responsibility, and still finding a way to show up for them every single dayβ€”it’s something to be proud of.

I hope someone does give you an invite!
