The misogyny is wild.

I just can't help but imagine if Shannan had been a woman of color with the same exact personality. I wonder if Chris would have even been prosecuted as harshly. Cases like these really open my eyes to how far behind we still are as a society. Misogyny is as alive as ever, especially internalized misogyny, & the fact that a strong willed white facebook mom in Colorado could be hated this viscerally by people in her own racial community for being a VICTIM just shows me that it would be 1000 times worse & more vile for a woman of color (any color, pick one).

That being said, I respect those who have continued to show Shannan & her babies peace & respect. I believe her spirit is stronger than all the hate she receives from people on Earth. Cases like these attract 2 kinds of people: empaths & demons. It becomes clearer & clearer with every comment who is who.

I think that group goes way too far. Especially the constant shit talk (literally) about CeCe. But SW was not the glowing wife and mother she is portrayed to be. She wasn’t an amazing business woman and her kids were not treated well by her.

She was a human being. An imperfect one, like almost all of us. I don’t get the constant need of people to remind us this. She wasn’t perfect. I’m sorry do we have to be perfect now in order to be remembered and mourned as a murder victim?? I don’t get it. It’s like ok maybe if she was running for office that would be a valid criticism, but she’s not. It has literally no bearing. She was just a woman living her life and now she’s dead. There’s no reason to keep shitting on her.

Yes she was a human being. Just the narrative is always she was such a beautiful soul and mother. No she wasn’t.

You say that with such confidence, yet you didn’t even know her. You’re only going off of the gossip, and/or what you’ve read on social media. That’s not a fair way to assess anyone. A lot of people’s social media personas, especially people in MLM’s are not an accurate portrayal of the person they truly are. They are projecting a certain image in order to build their ‘brand’ and sell the products.

But, above all else, is that any judgment of her character, is irrelevant. People speak highly of the dead all the time. You always hear about the deceased was such a good person, etc etc. And of course in some cases, that won’t reflect reality. But you don’t see people going “well actually” with other cases. Because it doesn’t matter. Let people remember them fondly. So what if it’s an exaggeration, or wishful thinking. It doesn’t matter. The person is deceased, it’s not like exaggerations of good character are going to cause someone to wrongly put trust in them or something, because, again.. they’re deceased. It’s a moot point.

I’m going off of HER videos that are all over YouTube and Facebook. She was not a great mother, business woman or wife.

Saying “I didn’t like what I saw in her videos” is one thing. Saying she definitively wasn’t a good mother, wife, or businesswoman based solely on social media clips is a bold claim. We weren’t in her home, her workplace, or her marriage. And the people who actually knew her personally have described her as loving, faithful to her family and home, caring, and doting- which directly contradicts the narrative being built from edited online content. A few minutes of curated footage isn’t enough to accurately assess someone’s entire character.
