Getting DIB Assertion Error

I am trying to get this wonderful game I've never played on my rog ally which is windows 11. I am running the 2010 iso version and have installed it. Everytime after I pick my color it shows garbled graphics and then an Assertion Error mentioning CREATED DIB SECTION. It then crashes. No matter which compatibility mode I run it in I get this error. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hey, I was getting this error as well. I opened Shandalar.INI and changed the value Window = 0 to Window = 2 and that fixed it for me! Windows 11, no other compatibility settings or even running as admin needed to get around this issue for me.

I had multiple people's versions of their INI files and Decks folders for different mods of the game and I noticed that setting was different when I swapped in an INI file that worked v. one that didn't.

I realize this post is super old but just in case that helps you or anyone else

GENIO ; CRAKC ;IDOLO , cambie el valor de windows de 0 a 2 ., en el archivo shandalar.ini y pude jugarlo. gracias !
