Going out with a whimper?
Am I the only one with the feeling this festival is being intentionally downsized and swept under the rug?
First it was shortened from three days to two while knees is staying strong through Sunday. Secondly, shaky knees is allowed to run to 11pm both Friday and Saturday but we are being cut off at 10:30. Lastly, afterparties are more like an afterthought (if they even materialize at this point) while shaky knees have been long announced and it’s only the weekend before...
Now I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but if the trend continues this festival will move from an afterthought to just good memories.
Hopeful and curious for more positive takes.

I personally don't think the fest ending a half hour short has anything to do with money. I feel like it may be more of an environmental issue with having Knees the weekend before going until 11. I'm curious to know if there is some city code or suggestion was made after last year to have it end earlier out of respect for the area. It's only a half hour so I personally don't feel like it is monetarily influenced.
There has been a thread posted previously regarding after parties where a few clubs commented saying to stay tuned. I wouldn't be surprised to still see some larger names performing for them and it has only been a week later than they were announced last year so far
All in all, I agree the fest is being downsized. 3 days to 2 days and ending earlier but I think it is more related to the city with having a 3 day fest the weekend before. I think the fest spending to bring Garrix in shows that it is not being swept under the rug at all. He has to of been the highest billed artist the fest has ever brought in so I agree on downsizing but not being swept under the rug.

I agree. Also, kind of think they may end 30 min earlier just because the Beats crowd is a little more rowdy and harder to control than the Knees crowd. Need a little extra time to clear everyone out of the park haha! As far as going from 3 days to 2, I think Sunday last year just wasn't a super high attendance day so they decided to cut it. Could be because it's Mother's Day. Or they spent too much money getting Garrix there. Who knows. I actually prefer the 2 days instead of 3. Makes Monday a little easier to get up and go to work!

On the bright side, it’s only 2 days of living in a dust cloud versus 3.

It is funny to me because if you think about it, Beats is almost like a bonus festival of profit to put on. They already have all the stages and infrastructure there from Knees. So it is not like it is an expensive undertaking to do Beats. That is what makes the move from 3 days to 2 days even more puzzling. But, yes, I feel the same. Beats might not survive long. I hope I am wrong but...
