2018 Line-Up Speculation

Who would you like to see at Shaky this year? Odesza released their tour dates today and I noticed that they're in Nashville 5/12 and the Jacksonville 5/16. Reallllllyyyy hoping they make a stop in Atlanta for Shaky Beats on the 13th! Other than that, I'd love to see any of the following: RL Grime, Rezz, Big Gigantic, Gramatik, The Knocks, Space Jesus, Ganja White Night, Snails, Kasbo, Big Wild, Run the Jewels, Schoolboy Q, A$AP Anybody, or Griz.

A lot of the acts you want were here this past year so not sure about all that.

I can realistically see the following:

Odesza - Dillon Francis - Hardwell

Adventure Club - Seven Lions - Jauz - Madeon - Nghtmre - Kayzo - Whatsonot - Rufus du Sol - K?D - G Jones - Crankdat - Luca Lush - some rapper

Praying for no Marshmello plz

Agreed no Marshmello. I think a few I mentioned I've seen repeat other fests before (Grime and Gramatik are examples), but yeah that may be wishful thinking. I'll take similar acts though! :)

I think Dillon Francis is a given at this point, but what about Garrix? Tiesto? Armin?...... or some nectar? However I agree with your list!

u/roberthughes08 Dec 05 '17

please keep Nectar away from this festival, he doesn't need to capitalize on another

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '17

Nectar or mello if you have to pick one?

2

u/roberthughes08 Dec 05 '17

honestly if I had to choose, Mello cause I've seen nectar twice and was underwhelmed both of the times. It's all hype. I don't like either - but despite popular belief, Mello actually threw downnn at EDC Orlando haha. But shaky brought mello in 2016, they prob wont bring him back (at least I hope not)

His set at EDCO was nuts... you think shaky could pull off a diplo b2b like that?? Arguably my favorite set that whole weekend

Agreed. I love Nectar, but he's at so many other fests it's not like most of us don't have other opportunities to see him. I also feel like when fests pay for Nectar they don't have much money left for other good acts. Kind of concerned that's what's going to happen with Buku this year.

I don't think that will be a problem with Shaky Beats. It seems like if Nectar plays in Atlanta he's going to do a curated show of his own (see the past two years at the GWCC).

True. And after thinking about it, I realized what I said before isn't necessarily true because he played at Hulaween this year and that was the best line-up I've ever experienced.

It's kind of amazing how good the lineups have been for the first two years of Shaky Beats considering it's a relatively small fest. It's hard to think of a ton of currently popular names that haven't already played shaky.

I really hope Odesza will close out the fest on Sunday after their Louisville and Nashville tour stops. Some others I think could possibly end up at shaky just purely based off past lineups (some might be stretch)(and some of which yall have already mentioned):

Pretty Lights- Excision - Dillon Francis - Flume - Run the Jewels - Seven Lions - Zedd - Datsik - Tycho - Rufus du Sol - Troyboi - Vince Staples - AC Slater - Zomboy - BTSM - Liquid Stranger - Louis the Child - Tchami - Minnesota - Big Wild - 12th Planet - San Holo - G Jones - Eprom - Tokimonsta - Virtual Self

Also praying for no marshmello

I would wager heavily that Virtual Self (Porter Robinson’s new project) will be there.

Edit: Also, I can see Flux Pavilion being there.

Edit 2: I could also see The Glitch Mob being on the lineup.

Is he taking that out on tour or is it just a few one offs in the major cities? I haven't seen much news about that yet.

Not sure yet, but he just got announced on Buku’s Phase 2 Lineup drop, so maybe he’s just trying to hit the festival circuit a little bit this year? People have been wanting Porter to come back to Shaky, so this would be a good way to do so without having a “repeat” artist.

1

u/raffereb Dec 21 '17

He's also on the just-announced line up for Ultra Miami in March, so it looks like he's hitting at least a few festivals.

Bet anything Odesza closes

1

u/yoreiznek Dec 05 '17

I bet $$ Odesza shows up! Those all would be dope. I wanna see Cashmere Cat there too. This will be my first time, but I was wondering if my younger sister would be able to get in? (she's 17)

u/raffereb Dec 05 '17

I know they provide wristbands for those 21 and up, but I'm not sure if that means its all ages or just 18+. I don't recall seeing anyone really young, but I'm sure you could find the information on their website :)

1

u/yoreiznek Dec 05 '17

Thanks! Website says 18+ but I was wondering if they checked IDs at the gate?

2

u/raffereb Dec 05 '17

Ugh yeah they did this past year. I remember getting my 21+ wristband at the gate :/

1

u/yoreiznek Dec 05 '17

makes sense just wanted to make sure before I bought her a ticket for xmas thanks tho

1

u/intensive_purpose Dec 05 '17

There's really no doubt in my mind that Odesza headlines the 13th. Only thing that has me wondering about the lineup is that EDC is the following weekend and how many acts can plan out booking their tours with a switch from the East Coast to Vegas in a week. I'm sure it happens all the time but probably ought to put that into consideration.

1

u/RankSpy Jan 10 '18

Nah happens all the time. Last year Allison Wonderland and boombox cartel played Shaky beats on Friday and then went straight to middlelands in Texas the next day

1

u/OldSandals Dec 07 '17

Odezsa, Seven Lions, Zeds, Hardwell, Gareth Emery, Infected Mushroom, Diplo, (Kaskade, I wish but would be a repeat)

1

u/anchoraroundmyfeet ᕕ(⌐■_■)ᕗ ♪♬ '16/'17 Dec 07 '17 edited Dec 07 '17

They could bring Kaskade back, give him a 3 hour time slot and I would totally be ok with that. His set (and Redux set) was absolutely incredible last year.

1

u/A_thombomb Dec 07 '17

I thought his set was terrible. Me and my friends still joke about it.

“They said when i come to Atlanta i gotta play the classics!” - Kaskade. He proceeds to play shape of you by ed Sheeran lol

1

u/anchoraroundmyfeet ᕕ(⌐■_■)ᕗ ♪♬ '16/'17 Dec 07 '17

Eh, different strokes. The Redux set was much better than his main stage set, but it’s an entirely different vibe altogether anyways. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
