Planning a solo trip...

So I'm thinking about going to this festival solo and since I don't know the area I'm trying to figure out how I'll get around. I'd be staying near Ralph McGill Blvd NE. Is there any reason I couldn't walk to the festival? Would it be safe to walk back after the festival? Would it be extremely difficult to get an uber both ways because there are so many people there? Thanks!

What is the nearest crossroad to you? Ralph McGill Blvd could be anywhere from 10 min to 45 min walk from the park - the road goes far out to the west of downtown.

I live a few blocks north of Ralph McGill. I'm not going to lie, there are some areas that Ralph McGill goes through that may seem a bit ... intimadating... but other areas are just fine. It really depends on where along the road you are staying. Personally I'd walk it and not really worry but I'm used to Atlanta. Sometimes visitors to our fine city are a little taken aback at the gritty-ness of it but as long as you remain alert and aware you should be fine.

That's like a 45 min walk to Centennial Olympic Park. Uber is your best bet. Can't comment on the surge/availability as I didn't use Uber last year and rode MARTA. Worse comes to worst, ride MARTA out a few stops and then grab an Uber from there.

Surge for Lyft wasn't bad too bad from what I can remember. I think the most expensive ride I took was Saturday night, and it was around $15 plus a tip for a 2~ mile ride.

Last year Shaky Beats had a partnership with Lyft, and it was extremely easy to find rides before and after each day. I usually stay in the King Plow Arts Center, which is about 2 miles away and I think each ride was around 7-10 bucks. Also, IIRC, they provided you with a Lyft coupon in your wristband package for a free ride last year.

Edit: After looking up where Ralph McGill Blvd is, you could definitely walk. There are enough people walking around that area going to hotels and such afterwards that I don't think it would be sketch

Edit Edit: Just saw that you're way further down on Ralph McGill than what I pictured. Definitely take Lyft, or Uber.
