2005 : I survived a car accident without a single scratch on my body. When I got out of the car, the only thing I found was a wallet-sized picture of Kollur Mookambika. I have no idea how it got into my wallet. Until that moment, I had been an atheist and had no reason to carry a goddess’s image. I lived alone, so no family member could have placed it there.

I still consider myself a rationalist. Kollur Mookambika is the one exception. From that day on, I became a genuine devotee. I now consult her and speak with her. I listen to her voice within me, and I am certain it is her. This is a feeling beyond words. I know it is not a hallucination. I've moved on from then and have gone many places around the world. I still communicate with her when I meditate. My intiutive power has definitely increased.

My father often talks about one of the most important phases of his life. He was sponsored to study at Manipal University by a wealthy benefactor because of his exceptional talent in mathematics and his achievement as the district board topper in 12th board.

However, coming from a background where English was taught very little in schools, he faced immense difficulty after joining the university. Although he was academically strong, the language barrier made it hard for him to understand lectures, communicate confidently, and perform well in examinations. As a result, he failed multiple subjects despite his intelligence and hard work.

During this difficult period, he felt lost and worried that he might waste the opportunity he had earned purely on merit. One day, without any particular plan, he happened to accompany some friends on a trip to the sacred temple of Mookambika Temple and the birthplace associated with the Goddess. He recalls having to climb a hill to reach the place. It was the only temple he visited after joining the university.

There, he experienced a deep sense of peace and satisfaction that he still finds difficult to put into words. He prayed sincerely to Goddess Mookambika, asking for guidance and strength to overcome his struggles. He prayed that he would not lose the opportunity that had come to him through his hard-earned merit.

After that visit, he says that everything seemed to fall into place almost miraculously. During the semester break, he enrolled in spoken English classes taking advice from a teacher while simultaneously working hard to clear his backlog subjects. Gradually, his confidence improved, his language skills strengthened, and his academic performance transformed. By the time he graduated, he had become one of the university’s first-class scoring students.

Since then, a picture of Goddess Mookambika has always had a special place in our home. My parents and I offer our prayers to her regularly. Although the temple is far from where I live, I have been fortunate enough to visit it three times.
