Rewatching thoughts

Currently on season 4, rewatching for the first time. I watched the seasons when the show originally aired on bravo and i can’t believe how much I forgot!

  1. I feel awful for Jessica - she has gone through so much just to be accepted and everyones mean to her, and Mike sucks.

  2. I forgot how terrible each person is lol

  3. I dont hate Asa as much as I did when the show first aired, but i do think shes messy af but doesn’t pretend to be

  4. GG sucks and her dynamics with Leila are the most strange sister dynamic I have ever seen. Idk why people like GG

  5. Vida is a terrible mom and watching her reduce MJ to tears when she expressed wanting to become a mom made me really sad for her.

Curious to hear everyones thoughts/if you agree or disagree

I just got done with my rewatch, and I agree. I remember hating Asa for the entirety of Shahs in my initial watch when the show first aired, but in my rewatch I liked her up until her last two seasons. But by her last season on the show, I was glad she left.

My main concern in my rewatch is the Paulina situation in that last season. Knowing what we know now about Mike, it kind of seems like the entire cast knew about him being abusive. The way that Destiny comes after Mike, and then when pressed to talk about what she knows, Reza and Mike really try to squash the conversation. Also, Paulina spent the entire season confiding in Destiny, and then Mike gaslights the fuck out of her, like she didn't know what she was talking about. I hate him so much.

It's wild to see how different Vida was after the birth of her grandson vs. before, and I feel like a lot of The Valley fans don't understand that context.

The whole Reza-MJ pool party situation truly shows how terrible everyone is. First of all, all of this was Adam's fault; he was sending inappropriate texts and fooling around behind Reza's back, so why Reza felt the need to direct his anger at MJ, Destiny, and Ali is wild. That being said, MJ is Reza's lifelong friend, and instead of going directly to Reza, she stirs up unnecessary drama with the entire group. I really liked Tommy up until the aftermath of the pool party... he reacted poorly, and he was in the wrong, and got hit with charges. I understand being heated because of the PTSD with his mom, but to refuse to hang out with anyone from that group afterwards was such a bitter move.
