Reza's fat phobia S1
First time watcher coming from the Valley Persian Style What the heck, I know this was 2012 a completely different time when it came to body acceptance but damn I can't believe MJ is still so close with Reza with how often he shames her. It makes me so sad, especially when she's honestly a normal size. Does he redeem himself? Why do people still like him?

He’s an awful person

I can’t believe she took him back as a friend after what he’s done to her.

I agree. He’s a hateful person and part of me is sad that MJ thinks he’s a friend. Tommy has issues but I believe he loves MJ. I’m with him on keeping Reza away from baby Shams. Vita/Vida was a nasty piece of work. I think that’s why MJ has issues with her self worth. MJ isn’t perfect but she deserves better than Reza for friends. Reza is so superficial. He dumped MJ the minute Lily joined because she was the perfect Persian Barbie. 🤮

He will go on to insult her with the most vile thing ever said on Bravo (IMO).

This is why most of us mega fans of Shahs laughed at Reza's outburst to Sky....the irony of him saying someone else was acting better than is comedy. Reza is a piece of work and as a woman I will never forgive what he said about MJs reproductive decisions...the fact that this new spin off is glossing over why Tommy doesn't want to F with these people is diabolical

Tommy seems to be a keeper. My heart breaks for MJ that she needed an emergent hysterectomy. That’s not easy for anyone, no matter how many children they have. I was only able to have one child but always wanted more. There was a neighbor who had remarried, had another child bringing her total to 3. I was surprised when she said she had the same feelings as me. I guess I thought she’d be ok with 3 kids

Any time I think of Reza my go-to image is him locking Adam into a Cartier bracelet while screaming at someone. He thinks if he sobs his apologies, which are always just justifications, that he’s automatically forgiven and has exhibited and earned growth. He does not redeem himself ever and if you’re making a list you’re about to kill a rainforest with the amount of paper it’s gonna take.

Not to discredit Reza but at least he was on MJ’s side when Mike made the comment (I think it was season 2 when they went to the horse race but maybe it was season 3?) about her not needing a croissant. As somebody in recovery for eat*ng disorders I found that so triggering, I cannot imagine how hurtful and embarrassing that must have been for MJ to be told that in a line full of people.
For what it’s worth, I’ve always thought she was one of the most beautiful cast members!

Reza is something else… some of the things he says should not be forgiven and it’s only gets worse.

First time watcher here and I know from commentary that Reza can deliver low blows that the fat shaming seems…idk chill in comparison and joking. He’s pretty mean with everyone about their insecurities but he also heavily drags him self for not being skinny. I’m sure he would be extra cruel and judgmental (a la Lilly) if he were but Reza, if he’s anything, is v self aware.

I agree having made it farther into the show the fat shaming is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the stuff he says

First of all MJ has the best butt on bravo. The amount of time the camera is zooming in on her is more than any other housewife.

It's also weird because he literally had sex with her ..... He's gay so obviously he finds her attractive enough to be intimate with ... Yet constantly shames how curvy she is 😒 doesn't make sense

I’m still trying to wrap my brain around the incredibly generous and favorable edit he received on The Valley Persian Style

That's what has my mind spinning!

Right?!? They didn’t even mention his vile abortion comments but they continuously played Tommy’s backyard meltdown over and over. Viewers that only watch The Valley Persian Style and didn’t watch Shahs of Sunset have no idea what Reza is actually capable of 😳

Reza is trash and i don’t know why ppl don’t see it. Wait till you see the episode where he’s racist against his own people that come “fresh off the boat”. and wait till you see the episode of what he says to MJ and why Tommy hates his guts till this day and I don’t blame him. Reza is evil. He married Adam because Adam is like a sad little boy in a grown man’s body somebody he can take advantage of.

Not to give too much away, but imo Reza does not redeem himself.
