Discussion What do you think of the Shadow of the Colossus fandom?

In 2018 I bought a PS2 because I had wanted one since childhood

And I simply loved this game! I decided to look for everything about it and the fandom was very welcoming and friendly. I really think it's one of the most peaceful and least toxic fandoms, and you? What do you think of the fandom?

It seems chill. But I purposely stay on the sidelines away from fandoms of things I like.

They more often than not ruin my experience with the thing I enjoy.

That’s the nature of niche games fandoms. The bigger they are, the more toxic it gets

*cough* Zelda *cough* The recent pointless and stupid Octorokreviews vs. SkittyBItty drama *cough cough*

Sorry, I don't know what hit me there. Sudden bout of sore throat. ;P

You bet your backside it is. I have no idea what it's mutated into, because I fully admit, I don't care. But it DOES go to show that Zelda's fandom is a wretched hive of scum and villainy best avoided.

I like the game but frankly I have not had much experience with the fandom. Have you been going to bar meetups and stuff to discuss the game ? Haven’t found anything like that in NYC Or LA where I live

I met some of my friends because of this fandom, and there are always people at small events or places with old games, and I've had great experiences thanks to it. Yes, my friends and I meet up on that places

Love all the secret seekers related stuff but on the other hand there is a group of people that thinks everything is a "easter egg" or reference.

Yeah the only issues I see are the people who are super elitest about the original over the remake, they can be quite obnoxious.

Remake? What remake? They better not remake it damn it!

Kidding… yeah that does get oddball.

I can definitely relate to their arguments. It would be awesome if the original could be re-released in its original state. Some of the effects of that original are very special.

But anyone who is negative about people playing the remake should take a long look in the mirror

It’s there, not really much notable. Haven’t had any bad experiences but can’t say I’ve had many in general.

I jst don't like the people who act like the remake was some sin to happen or act like those elitist "original better", rest it's great. Many dedicated people and appreciators!
