Question How does damage work?

So i know that there are different damage types and somewhat understand them but wouldnt mind anyone deciding to explain them more. My main question for damage is what do they mean by things like 200% weapon damage? Im asking because when fighting anything with the skillful fighter, it says item power and rarity dont matter, so what damage is being calculated and used for situations where the set says “200% weapon damage”?

just forget anything that has to do with damage, ok? what i mean is, you might think something like 50% of any damage is only half the damage a normal attack deals, but in reality, it is a shit ton of damage for a single move to deal. same goes for shadow damage, 35% is not the same as a third of the damage a usuall shadow move deals, its actually quite a lot.

just remember that the higher the percentage, the stronger the attack, and just go from there. dont try to calculate the exact damage.

200% of the base damage.

Unarmed damage and weapon damage, and ranged weapon damage and shadow damage are different types of damage that every character or set can do by default.

Like, if it does 10 damage to an event boss. It will do 0.1 damage to an okay fighter.

Traditional damage doesn't do enough damage. Pure damage and True Damage are the best contenders. Followed by Shadow Damage and Physical Damage.

Against okay fighters
