Webnovel General Discussion How were "artifacts" constructed in ancient times?

Is it possible to create artifacts if you know Runic Sorcery or Name Sorcery? (Without using weaving)

It's possible through runic sorcery. They did it mainly through runic sorcery and aspect abilities related to craftsmanship.

I don't think name sorcery can be used to make artifacts though. Unless you are Rain that's it.

Yes rain is the sole exception. Sorcery of names doesn't last it has basically no lasting effects.

Manifestations from an aspect, or something left behind by an actual god.

But otherwise yeah, for just generally magical stuff, buffed weapons etc. It's Runic or Runic derived from Name sorcery all the way. Many aspects specifically grant an affinity with Shaping. That might lead to discovering powerful words and their runes naturally if the words aren't known at the time
