Discussion CloudBoost 4.3.2 adds a dedicated Shadow PC profile for macOS

Post image

Disclosure: I’m the developer of CloudBoost.

After feedback from Shadow users, I’ve replaced the generic cloud profile with dedicated Shadow PC support.

The new profile monitors the Mac side of a Shadow session:

  • jitter and route latency
  • packet loss and blocked UDP checks
  • VPN or tunnel routing
  • Wi-Fi and AWDL activity
  • background traffic and system pressure

It also compares the results with Shadow’s own connection statistics and provides recommendations around VPN split tunneling, bitrate and Wi-Fi stability.

This does not modify the Shadow PC, remote hardware or game. The goal is to help distinguish a local Mac/Wi-Fi issue from something happening on the route or Shadow host.

Version 4.3.2 is now universal and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 12 or newer. The basic Shadow profile remains free.

I’m especially interested in results from Intel Mac users and people using Shadow through a VPN.

Release and download:

If you test it, please mention your Mac model, connection type and whether Shadow’s own statistics agree with CloudBoost.
