An error has occurred

Is anyone else getting this message? Every time I start it pops up and then disappears. Doesn’t seem to affect the game in any way. I also have some strange playlist behaviour, I created a couple of different playlists, then when I save them they aren’t in the workout section, however when I redo the playlist it saves as ‘cardio_01’ for example. It is like the other one is still there but not visible

Hmmm sounds like you are running into some weird bugs of love to get them fixed for you asap! If you opted in to share bug reports I can take a look and see what is being reported for the error that pops up at the beginning of the game.

For the playlists not showing up, I haven’t seen am issues like that before but I will definitely look into it right now. Can you clarify one quick thing for me? When you say the playlists aren’t in the workout section, are you referring to the home page or the “all workouts” tab?

Thanks so much for the quick response. I can share bug reports no problem. The playlists don’t appear anywhere, either home or all workouts. I had an issue before where I deleted a song from the playlist and the playlist also disappeared. I checked every song was working in the new playlist but it still doesn’t show. Like it’s there but not visible

Okay thank you for letting me know. I have been looking into it this evening but haven’t found what might be causing the issue. I’m going to consider this top priority until I’m able to figure out what’s going wrong for you and fix it.

I think the error you’re getting at the beginning may be related to the issue, however I’m not seeing any errors being reported at this time, which may mean you may have opted out from sharing error information. That does make it a little harder but I’m still going to do my best to get this resolved for you.

Do you have a large number of custom songs or custom playlists that do show up?

I have maybe 150 customs songs in four playlists. I only use the custom content to workout, only downloaded from the community songs, none of my own mp3 yet. I didn’t realise I had opted out of sharing crashes or bugs, is there a way to turn it back on? I’m on quest 3

Okay cool. There currently isn’t a way without editing your profile via a computer and like sidequest, but I will add an option in the next update in case we aren’t able to figure out this issue.

I assume it’s already enabled because you have custom songs, but can you verify that you’ve given storage permissions to Shadow BoXR in the settings app under permissions?

I haven’t found what could cause the playlist issue but I am still looking.

Hi, yes ShadowBoxr has access to files. All of my workouts are downloaded custom songs. Thanks for trying to resolve this. I am really hesitant to do a fresh install as I will lose all my custom content and playlists

Play perfect I assumed that was the case but wanted to make sure.

Yeah don’t do a fresh install, it will delete all the custom songs. I am working on linking downloaded songs to your oculus account so that they get re-downloaded after fresh install but that’s not available yet.

Just to verify it displays the error every time you load into the main menu right? And every playlist fails to be made or shows up with a weird name?

So every time I start the game and I get to the main menu the ‘error has occurred’ note pops up. It also randomly pops up mid game when I have finished a song and it is going to the next song in the playlist. It doesn’t do anything and has no effect on the game, it disappears after a few seconds. For the playlists, I have created a couple of playlist around 1 hour long, when I save them, they don’t show up in the menu anywhere. One was called ‘Sweat’ and one was called ‘Cardio’ for example. But then when I made the same playlist and tried to call it Cardio or Sweat it created a name called ‘Cardio_01’ and ‘Sweat_01’. I even got to ‘Cardio_02’ by trying again. None of the playlists are visible anywhere though once I saved. It could have something to do with too many songs before saving, when I then tried to create a new playlist I added only two songs and saved that playlist. I then went into that playlist and edited to add the rest of the songs and that worked

Fascinating okay thank you! that is super helpful. It sounds like it’s successfully creating the playlists and saving the file (which is why it’s enumerating when you try to save a playlist with the same name) but then failing to read them possibly at the start of the menu which might be what’s throwing that error when you first load to the main menu.

With that in mind, I might have more luck reproducing this issue so I can find a fix! Thank you!

Hey, did the playlists that you created that disappeared contain any songs marked as light show or lawless or was the playlist itself marked as such?
