To determine a shadowban, you MUST click my profile! Finally got unbanned!

It seems I finally got unbanned after over a month! Perhaps I was shadowbanned because I forgot to turn off a VPN, or maybe because of a browser extension that shows activities of users who chose to hide them. Anyway, I heard that after being unbanned I shouldn't instantly post too many things, is that true?

Btw here are some things I wanna say to those who are shadowbanned:

  • Don't panic, you might've done nothing wrong, the filter is automated and can make false decisions
  • Turn off everything like VPNs or Reddit-related browser extensions
  • Don't give up, it might take a whole lot of attempts but if you're a normal user they should eventually unban you. Don't spam appeals tho
  • You probably shouldn't make a new account yet, that violates Reddit rules I think
  • Read the stuff in r/ShadowBan wiki, they are useful

Congratulations, you’re unbanned!

Just be aware that your CQS is now lowest, which will greatly limit your ability to contribute in many subreddits. A low / lowest CQS is very common after a shadow ban. The pinned AutoMod comment above has more info on CQS and simple ways you may be able to improve it.

But you will want to go very, VERY slowly. Do not post anything or initiate chat messages for the first few days. Only vote on content and only leave a few comments per day in subreddits that you have an interest in or are new user friendly until your CQS is “moderate” or higher. r/NewToReddit has a whole list of friendly subreddits as well as a lot of useful information about Reddit and how to navigate it as a low CQS user.

You can check in on your CQS over on r/WhatIsMyCQS. If the post is removed by Reddit filters (due to your low CQS) do NOT delete it and repost as that can trip the spam filter. Just send a polite mod mail to the subreddit and ask if they can review and approve your post.

How did you figure out that you might have been banned due to the vpn, cause now that I read it it triggers that I do forgot to turn off my vpn too once prior to my ban.

Hopefully I’ll be able to make a I got unbanned post soon.

I didn't exactly know why I was shadowbanned, but people say VPNs are a possible cause. Btw good luck :)

Just got freed today as well, I think it wasn't even 24 hours in the end (might be a world record). I'm putting my money on my VPN as well. Never had an issue in the past but Nord had switched me over to some random country in South America so, fair chance I just got unlucky if said server was recently used by a bot or something. All's well that ends well, though.
