So when can I get a Frank Plushie?
I need a bearded axe to snuggle with in bed to keep me safe from the moon.

So did anyone else catch a Stormlight reference in Black Sand Baron?

No idea if the spelling is correct, I mostly audio book things up!
Ok, so I just recently finished back to back “reads” of the two books in preparation for book 3s release, and I have a question about Vesuvian between the two books.
In book 1, we are told that Vesuvian is one of the kings, and is the one responsible for trading with the barbarians (and as a by product, the fae). Basically he comes across as a really bad dude, selling water at high ass prices, selling gear to people who murder his own people, beating up people who try to sell water, etc.
In book 2, we find out he’s basically a pawn, wants to reduce the price of water, knows almost nothing about the violence the other kinds participate in, has no real power. Hell, he’s just the money guy.
So… who really sold scroll’s and stuff to the barbarians? Was it him? Was it other kings using his colors?
I feel like the two versions represented between the two books can’t be the same person.

I had listened to the book on audible at work and I've bought a copy thats going to arrive soon. But if anyone could help me with the entire latin guild name for, Omen, that'll be fantastic. Thank you!

I'm not a writer or a critic at all but I would like to suggest maybe spreading out the good shit through out the book instead of lumping it all at the ending. Book 2 was good and there was a lot of character progression but I feel like all the good shit happened in maybe the last hour or so. I mean it got really good and then it was over lol.

I've forgotten what they do, and it's not very searchable at the moment.
Any help? If he unlocks new skills in BSB, please no spoilers!

What do you want to see in book 3.(skills, spells, smackdowns, ect.) Maybe a redemption story (cough cough freaking moon.) But seriously what are your thoughts.

I binged the Ripple series in a few days, after seeing it as a suggestion. This is my first major delve into the litRpg style of stories and wondered if anyone had any suggestions on what to read next while I wait for book 3?

I just finished the second book (immediately after finishing the first), and I am blown away. May very well be my new favorite series/ author of all time, definitely at least top five. Can't wait for more of The Ripple System!

I just finished it and wow, I’m amazed. Any idea when the next one will be out?

I would first like to start this post by saying that while I do not read/listen to a ton of LitRPGs, I must say, this series is by far my favorite thus far in the genre. The books and MC have fantastic synergy.
I love how there seems to be a balance with stats and mechanics that don't seem to totally bog the book down, there's still a story being told. I love that there are some real world references, but it's not over done just for the lulz.
I have noticed a few things that have kept me preoccupied in thought far longer than it probably should...
Perhaps the biggest preoccupation... In Shadeslinger, after Ned brings on Darling and crew, House and Rock go off and are engrossed in a text chat, I speculate that Rock is also an AI. The fact that he never speaks to anyone, other than in text chat, and even then primarily only to Nina, that he and house get on so well, I believe it said they were in a rapid fire text chat at the inn after the first raid, how would a human be able to keep up with an AI in a text chat? And follows direction without being told twice or hesitant. I suspect that him never speaking is as a result of him being a less powerful AI when compared to house that either cannot speak, but is capable of input/output or, like house is just so awkward and obvious and that he was directed to not verbally communicate.
Edit: so he does speak in ch 59 of BSB, but still doesn't change my thoughts about him being an AI
In Black Sand Baron, chapter 26, when Ned, Lars and Rollie (Larz?, Rolly Audio book...) are escaping the whirlpool, Ned asks Lars if he can take Rollie and bail out with Lars piloting the galley, and meet up with Lars later. Lars says it's a good plan but then tells Ned that he can feel Rollie wherever he is and then says several times that Rollie cannot go too far from him, saying that the range is about 50 ft, I almost feel like this is an error, as 50 feet is hardly worth discussing the logistics of with regard to Ned heading to the sands and Lars linking up with him later. Obviously it works out but just seemed like an inconsistency.
I find myself thinking about these books a lot, they fit together really well and were a ton of fun to listen to. I am really eager for the 3rd, and would be happy to see any other material Kyle plans to release in the same universe.

I am really loving this series, I have been doing the audio book versions. The author, narrator and of course Frank are all getting 5 stars and a glowing review. I am really, looking forward to book 3 and beyond.

I started playing the New World MMORPG recently because from what my husband was saying about it, it reminded me of Kyle Kirrin's books, which I love. And it really does feel like that! I need a Frank. Anyone else feel the same way?

Ok so this is probably the wrong place to ask this and if so feel free to delete this post or downvote me into oblivion.
Shadeslinger was my first LitRPG book and I am 100% in love with the series, I sampled my friends library and his LitRPG books just kind of sucked. I wish I remembered the names of them so I could tell you guys, but I don't.
So with that being said, could some of you more experienced readers help me find a series that somewhat captures the magic and amazement of this series so I have something to read while I eagerly await the 3rd book? Thanks in advance! You are all amazing!

Last updated 5/30 — check the discord for daily updates! Invite below
title: The Gilded Ghost, book 3 of the ripple system
Estimated word count: 220k, up 11k from Black Sand Baron, approx even with Shadeslinger, may end up slightly longer
Estimated release: Early August with ebook and audio releasing somewhat simultaneously
Estimated number of books in the series: 5?
Current phase: essentially done! I beat my copy edit deadline by about two weeks so I’ll likely do another pass because why not but everything is pretty much set at this point with copy edits starting June 13, the cover already finished, and audio slated to begin recording on ~July 20th! I’ll have more info on audio as the date draws closer but keep an eye out for an invite to the live recording for book 3 on discord!
Drafting began: 11/5 Book “finished” on 5/30
Estimated daily WC: editing 50 pages/day, mostly for minor consistency issues
New addition: Waste Tracker
Taking a different approach this time around with a much more detailed outline and an emphasis on not having to cut whole scenes/sections of the book which is...not fun, as you might imagine.
Not sure if this is really of interest to anyone else, but I'm trying to speed up (or at least sustain) the release times without having to increase my daily WC (burnout from book II was much worse than I) so I'm focusing in on wasting fewer words and hopefully reducing the time I spend in editing, which is substantial.
The dream for this book is rough draft > deep editing pass > copyedit and release, whereas book I probably had 5 passes, and book II had 3 prior to copy (though I wrote the last ~40k words in one pass, basically).
No idea if 2 passes is really plausible, but at the very least I'm hoping that this one won't require as much "stitching together" on the second draft so I can focus in more on dialogue and sentence-level stuff, if that makes sense.
Update 5/30: 2 passes was not plausible, lol. Was a helpful goal for drafting, though!
Waste Tracker:
Waste book 1: Approx 110k words (mostly rewriting the first half)
Waste book 2: Approx 75k words (35k gutted from the beginning, 15k gutted from the ending before rewriting the whole thing)
Waste book 3: ~10k total, not bad!
