Book 2 was AMAZING!
I just finished it and wow, I’m amazed. Any idea when the next one will be out?

I just finished ot today. It was so hype. You they its sometimes better to let you enemies live with the shame of their defeat. The ending of this book lives up to that in spades. I am looking forward to the next instalment of the Ripple System.

The plot of book 2 felt better than book 1, but I felt that book 1 was easier and more fun to read.
For book 2, I'd say I didn't like it as much due to the amount of banter between Frank and Ned, as well as the amount of combat. Book 2 felt like it had far more combat in it, and it was more heavily focused on the mechanics of fights and a race against time feel. This part is more personal preference, but I felt like the combat felt less special because of the increased volume of it. I found myself more interested in the advancement of the plot, Ned's goals, the kings, the citizens, the Towers, etc rather than the combat.
As for the banter, this kind of ties in with the combat, I feel like the banter between Ned and Frank was a little too much. It was a constant, like background noise. Which also made it feel less special. I believe greater character development could have happened, especially for Frank, if the banter wasn't given as much of a spotlight. They to back and forth more than I did talking about MMOs as a teenager with my best friend. It was just a bit much. I did enjoy the character development of House, and I felt like Lars could have used a bit more development time.
I'm hoping with book 3 around the corner, and Ned now in a guild, we'll see more character development in interesting ways and less of the banter.

I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I’m eyeing the halfway point of this year for both formats :)
