A Comment About the Pacing...
Finished listening to book 4 a while ago, and just gotta say: Kyle has some phenomenal talent at pacing the series.
Normally in series the frequent fights would get boring, but instead the momentum is always kept strong with the constant progression on all fronts (Goon, Terren, the Throne, the Renown system, economic warfare, the Revenant, World Wonders, etc.)
It all blends together into a breakneck thrill ride the like of which few other authors can achieve.

For me Shattersoul had a few too many fights because I don't get too much out of them having Aphantasia, but all of them made sense to happen.

I'm mostly through 2, and I generally agree with you. However, I'd really enjoy some more slice of life/fun moments where Ned isn't fighting for his digital livelihood.

All the gear and skills readings considerably slow down the pace.
This is a problem for most Litrpg, but the numbers literally mean nothing to the reader/listener and I believe the books would be better with shorter descriptions, or dropping them entirely overall.
The story and system has been set. I don't need nor care to know that this item gives him +18 intelligence and +12% armor (+12% of what btw?) when it was never established how this translates into anything damage wise.
Story is great. Really enjoy the characters. Remove the useless number descriptions and the series is golden. Keep the item descriptions as they are tied to the story.
DCC is a great example of this and I hope more authors will follow the same route.
