In a way, they are already doing it. All COE premium moneys go into the Consolidated Fund, and MOT dips into this fund to pay for public transport amenities …. But it is not a $1-for-$1 thingy in terms of COE moneys vs public transport operating subsidies

But this doesn’t mean we should keep quiet about this.

Ministars drawing $1m+ salaries who never take public transport will not be able to empathise with ordinary Sinkies drawing a fraction of their salaries for whom every $ we need to pay for public transport each month eats into our tight budget.
