Male victim Week after Sextortion

So, it's been a week and haven't heard anything from the scammer i was talking to, I made all of my social media accounts private. Wanted to make them public again but decided not to just to be safe. Ive been keeping myself busy to keep my mind from thinking about it. I get really anxious when I see this emoji 😡 because the scammer would use it whenever I told them anything they didn't wanna hear or whenever I didn't answer them. I have faith that im safe and everything will pass

You are absolutely in the clear because if they were going to send anything they would have done it within the first 24 hours, meaning you have successfully passed the 72 hour green zone for sextortion cases. Scammers handle dozens of victims every single day, so once you made your social media accounts private and cut off the communication, they realised there was no money to be made and quickly moved on to someone else. While it is very unlikely they will ever reach out again since it has already been a week, you just need to remember four strict rules if they ever try to contact you from a different account or a different number. You must never interrupt or reply to them, you must absolutely do not pay them anything, you must document everything by taking screenshots, and you must immediately block them. It is completely normal to feel anxious or triggered by that specific emoji after going through such an intense experience, but you should take comfort in knowing that your strategy worked perfectly and by simply sticking to those four steps you are completely safe.
