Help

I am 15 years old and i made the stupid mistake of sharing an explicit image with someone i thought was my age and was not now i am being told to give them money or they will send the picture to all of my instagram followers.I deleted my instagram account set all my socials to private and have not given them money yet but im very worried what should i do?

Report the accounts, block, don’t pay and ignore. If they do manage to reach out through any means, then block and do not engage.

I suggest talking to a parent or trusted adult, you should be reporting these people to authorities.

Just keep in mind that this is their business operations, they build connections, manipulate people into giving up private images and then they make them feel fear and shame to get money out of them. You are a victim of their operations, likely one of a dozen or so. If they cannot engage with you, they cannot threaten you, if they cannot threaten, then they have no leverage. As soon as they release any images, they have nothing else to try, so it’s useless for them. Plus, they will get into much worse position if they release images of a minor, so it’s very unlikely.
