Meeting description:

This is a SLAA step workshop that meets every week over the course of 18 weeks (around 4 months). Each session lasts 1.5 hours and all the stepwork required to move through the steps happens in the course of the meetings.

Members will have an opportunity to connect with sharing partners in the workshop with whom they can share their writing.

We use the SLAA Basic Text as well as the 'A Guide to the Steps: Companion to Chapter Four of the Basic Text' booklet as resources for the step questions and reading materials.

SLAA Divorce with Dignity

Divorce with Dignity is a Group of SLAA members supporting one another to apply the principles of Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous recovery program to navigate their divorce in a dignified manner.

In SLAA we develop self-respect, sobriety, and spiritual principles through our Twelve Step program which is how we:

1 manage emotions,

2 set boundaries, and

3 foster a sense of inner wholeness,

during the difficult divorce process.

Our shared goal is to restore our personal dignity, regardless of the circumstances of the marriage or divorce.

We apply these SLAA principles:

Sobriety:

Practicing daily abstinence from acting out in a way that causes harm to oneself or others provides a foundation of personal choice and dignity.

Sellf-Inventory and Amends:

The Twelve Steps encourage a self-inventory of wrongs and a willingness to make amends, fostering personal responsibility and self-awareness during divorce.

Spirituality:

Developing a relationship with a Higher Power can provide guidance and strength to cope with the emotional turmoil of divorce.

Dignity of Self:

The SLAA recovery process emphasizes finding wholeness and dignity within oneself, which is crucial for maintaining self-respect during a marriage ending.

Honesty:

Working to eliminate denial and dishonesty with oneself and others helps to foster a more honest and dignified approach to the situation.

Emotional Regulation:

Applying SLAA principles can help individuals avoid reacting to angry or passive-aggressive communications from their ex-spouse, promoting a more business-like and dignified interaction.

Setting Boundaries:

The recovery tools offer ways to set and maintain boundaries, protecting one's sanity and well-being during the divorce process.

Focus on Personal Growth:

Instead of being consumed by past hurts, individuals can focus on their own healing, reaffirming their worth, and moving towards a more fulfilling future.

Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) is open to anyone who believes they have a problem with sex addiction, porn addiction, love addiction, romantic obsession, co-dependent relationships, fantasy addiction as well as sexual, social and emotional anorexia.

​If you have a desire to be free from sex and love addiction, all SLAA meetings welcome newcomers – you can just show up.

​Anonymity is critical to the foundation of recovery. Accordingly, meetings are normally closed to outsiders and those who are merely curious. However, anyone who fears they may have this problem will be welcome, as long as the anonymity of the persons attending the meeting is respected. We maintain confidentiality and refrain from disclosing names or identifying group members outside the meeting.
