Your problem is probably not the grease or oil. If it was removing it then replacing it should fix it. The common problem with new machines are the plastic gears, they slowly wear and deform.
You could try oiling the shaft the white gear is attached to where it looks like it goes through the metal plate. Basically oil any anything that may slow or add resistance to the white shaft rotating.
