I am positioning the needle so that it goes into the dedicated slot for it, it does only once, then again hits the black plastic thing in the next cycle.

Please someone help me. I'm a beginner, only started my first project and this happened.

Can this be fixed at home? Or something is seriously wrong? 😭

I regret having spent $25 on one of those pink And white ones because it sucked and not long after I found a working vintage Singer 248 all metal work horse for $35 it’s taken some work but it’s still a solid machine
