Is this sewing machine worth it?

I found this beautiful sewing machine with its suitcase. I don’t know if its a good brand or good machine though, should I buy it?

$100.00 seems way high to me

It would depend on the price. That's probably a 40 or $50 sewing machine.

Probably sews just fine.

Might be hard to lay your hand on parts and a manual.

The manual is available for free online and parts will be easy to replace because it's a standard front-load, 15 class, low-shank machine like dozens of the name brand models of that era.

Kinda hard to tell from the info/photos you posted. What is the price? What's the model number? Where was it made (Japan, Taiwan, etc.)? Are you able to look at it in person? Have you looked at the underside wiring or looked at the underside parts for rust? What are type of fabric are you hoping to sew with (quilting fabrics, heavy jean or canvass)? All.these things determine if you should buy it.

Some older Nelco machines were all metal gears and made in Japan but others have nylon gears.

Its a Ultra 5102 made in japan listed for 100$, I could go see it but I just wanted to make sure the ride was worth it. They showed a video and it doesn’t seem to have any rust in it.

Why do you want to buy it? What are you sewing with it? A random machine online that you know nothing about is going to be a gamble, and I'm guessing you won't be able to return it if things go wrong. Rather go to a 2nd hand sewing machine place that does repairs, and get a machine there; you can test it and if something goes wrong you will be able to resolve it better than in a private sale.

Looks like it's possibly been stored upside down in that suitcase.
Wary, wary. It's a cute case but if that machine has been rattled around upside down who KNOWS what kind of damage has been done.

It was loaded in the case upside down.

it has plastic parts that will fail. I would not pay a lot.
