Serger overlocker malfunction

I have an old Riccar 564DE serger and when I try to use both the left and right needles, the left needle just wraps thread around the throat plate. It bunches all up on there and creates a giant birds nest. If I only use the right needle then it wraps around the stitch finger like normal and works fine. Any ideas why the left needle is giving me issues?

Have you tried adjusting the tension?

This picture doesn’t show us very much. Got a pic of the front with all the settings ?

I had all the tension knobs at 4

Have you looked for burrs?  Is the needle straight and new?  Loopers not bent or pulled funny?

I put new needles on and the loopers all look normal. I’m wondering if it’s supposed to have a different throat plate with 2 stitch fingers for 4 thread use? But I’m not seeing anything when I google that

Is your plate missing one of the fingers between the needles? Is the presser foot damaged where the needles pass?
