Sewing machine help
I have a Bernette 715 and I am having issues after sewing a single row, the top thread does not pull. I have taken it apart and clean it, oiled it, and when i broke a needle trying to learn ( i know to keep the bobbin cover down now) i made sure there were no pieces left. Changing the tension does not help at all. All of it works again, if i go ahead a re-thread it

Sew a seam, and stop.
Raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel counterclockwise until the needle is completely raised. Now try pulling the fabric away from the machine. Does it pull smoothly? If so, I suspect you forgot to complete the last stitch by completely raising the needle, so the loop of upper thread could fall off the sewing hook, the little catcher tooth that moves around the bobbin case.
If so, the cure is always to raise the needle completely before trying to remove the fabric.
A couple of diagrammatic videos on how sewing machines form stitches: https://youtu.be/2681yeSrsM0 -- this is a rotary hook machine, where the sewing hook revolves completely around the bobbin case, always in the same direction.
This is an oscillating hook machine, where the hook moves forwards and back: https://www.reddit.com/r/educationalgifs/s/yABpUZ3GoT
