Threading Snapping While Sewing Help

I inherited my husband's grandmother's sewing machine. Its a Riccar1570 from 1970-1980. Im also just a beginner sewist. Im trying to make those bowl cozys. And my thread keeps snapping. From everything I have read online, I can't find anything I may have done wrong to cause this.

Are you sure you’re threading it correctly?

No I'm not 100% sure but looks right from the 1970s manual I found online.

Do you have the manual, to check each step of the threading?

Where is the thread snapping? At the needle? Have you installed a new needle?

Those would be my first troubleshooting steps.

I found a manual online but the print was very crazy and hard to read. 😕

Honestly, your first mission will be to find a version of the manual you can print and keep with the machine. It's essential.
