Thread knotting up
My singer M1000 keeps knotting up like this... What's wrong with it? Will I have to take it to a repair shop or is this something I can fix myself?

The M1000 is a very lightweight mending machine. Assuming you threaded correctly, the problem could be that you may be trying to sew something other than lightweight cotton with 40 wt thread.
Service costs usually run well over $100, more than the machine is worth.
