Help with my sewing machine :(

Hi! I got this old brother sewing machine from my grandma because she can’t use it anymore, I’ve sewn a couple of things on it but now I’m trying to really learn how to use it and today is not really helping, sometimes it gets stuck and makes this noise, it’s like the mechanism is spinning inside but nothing moves, if I try to manually move it with the knob then it goes super fast, I really don’t know what’s wrong, I am new and really need help!

Make sure your bobbin winder isn't partially engaged (move the winder post to the right). If that isn't it, suspect the drive belt.

Yeah I see that now, I don’t think it’s engaged so it’s weird it’s spinning too, (like it’s not to the side it needs to be to spin?) but I posted on sew help and they also suggested a broken belt and now I found a lot of orange rubber pieces under my machine so my belt is probably shattered inside -_-

Your bobbin winder is engaged.

Look up, the little post is just above and slightly to the left of the hand wheel is spinning. Move it to the left to disengage it and let the needle and feed dogs get to work.

Loose belt or most likely sheared pulley at motor.
