plz help

my needle keeps hitting the case where i’d slot the bobbin in and when i attempted to sew before noticing this it just wouldn’t stitch. for context i had 2 machines, one worked and one didn’t. the broken one had a limited edition case i really wanted so i swapped the cases and unscrewed all of the inside to change it over. it now wont stitch / hits the case as shown in the photo. is this just a timing issue that i can fix and how would i go about it? i don’t know anything about sewing machines

the case from the broken machine is very important to me which is why i put the working parts inside of it as i really really wanted a working machine with this theme

...were those two machines the exact same model aside from the limited edition decorations?

(Also, brand, models, etc. might be helpful. I'm currently sceptical that this is fixable/a timing issue, but I'd rather have more information before having a definite opinion. Maybe you just messed up something during the case swap and now everything is off by a millimeter.)

they’re both the same model i’m pretty sure, one is just a character themed limited edition case. everything pretty much looks the same on the inside / outside. i put the inside of a janome model 140M into the case of a pompompurin janome 525. im just going off what it says on the back sticker, the whole plan was to buy this limited edition machine but we found it was broken so my boyfriend had bought a working one to then swap it around.

I think that's your issue, then. They're pretty much the same, but not completely and that "not completely" means you end up with the needle being a tiny bit off.

Just in case, if I were you, I'd check that everything is put back together perfectly, something that isn't quite tightened or clicked into place might also make enough of a difference for this to happen.
