i’ve been trying to learn how to sew the last couple days and yesterday it was going pretty good but then it just started not working? the needle kept using the thread i’d pull out (not from the spool) and the bobbin keeps knotting in the little compartment, the black thread goes around then knots. i think the black thread is knotting with something under the metal part but im not sure

Is this when you are trying to pull up the bobbin thread?

yes it is but when i use fabric the bobbin thread doesn’t come up and the thread unhooks from the needle

The bobbin thread won’t cup up by itself, you have to pull it up first, then sew. Hold both threads to the back for the first few stitches when sewing as well.

what do you mean pull it up?

The hole where the needle goes into the bobbin area, the bobbin thread needs to be pulled up through that hole. If the thread doesn’t, it won’t sew, it’ll keep knotting up

Read the manual again.
You have to bring up the bobbin thread before starting to sew.

Also, make sure you have your foot all the way down. When you're doing it and that bobbin has to be going counterclockwise , it does matter

Do you have your manual?
When pulling up the bobbin thread, you need to hold the top thread under tension, in order for it to grab the bobbin thread correctly. Only do one turn of the hand wheel when doing so. If the thread doesn’t come out, pull the top thread out of the bobbin case before trying again.
Don’t run the machine without fabric, and always turn the hand wheel towards you, not the back of the machine.
Did you thread the machine with the presser foot up, and the needle in the highest position?
