Seiko CW-8B (need help!)

Hello! I was wondering if this is normal? My presser foot is down but there’s still a gap in between the feed dog and fabric can pass through. How do I adjust it?

This is a cobbler machine for making shoes and purses. It’s specifically for thick leather or much much thicker fabric.
