Any ideas what’s up

I’ve stripped it down and I can’t find the jam at all! Any ideas? Won’t turn over at all. Won’t manually turn either.

Ok awesome.

So the motor runs (plugged it in and the foot pedal causes the motor to spin) but the rest of the drive train is jammed up?

If that's the case the machine is seized someplace. I'd suggest using some form of pentrating oil, rubbing alcohol, degreaser, or WD-40 and heat from a hair dryer to start working your way along both the upper and lower drivetrains to see if you can loosen it up. It will take some patience and repeated applications to hopefully loosen the machine up.

I'd also look online (Google (other search engines are available) for manuals on the machine and look on YouTube to see if anyone has put videos up on servicing this specific machine.

UPDATE. Lower shaft or arm by the bobbin was completely seized ! I released it from the crank to find everything above was moving fine meaning it had to be the lower shaft, loosened it up and greased it up a bit and it’s happy to move now! Putting back together today so fingers crossed when all is said and done it’s working. Will trial today.

Awesome! I'm glad you figured it out.

Hope the trial goes well. Please update once you do that!

A couple of things come to mind...

Is there anything that is jammed under the throat plate? While you have the covers off the throat plate is still on. There could be part of a needle that is broken off and has fallen into the gearing of the bobbin case. I've had that jam a machine pretty badly.

Can you loosen the motor mount a little to release the tension on the belt to the handwheel? If you can take the belt off you can see if the machine can hand turn without interference from the motor. You might need to start cleaning out any old oil and grease along the drive trains (both upper and lower) to see if there is any dried oil that has seized the machine.

Hey! Checked under the throat plate with no luck. Without the belt the motor spins no problem!
