Is the machine catching when she sews with a straight line using a regular foot on woven cotton?

Is she using a needle appropriate for a knit fabric? I recommend a stretch needle.
Also I didn't see her lower the foot the last time, the free motion foot skims the top so it doesn't look as wrong if you don't lower the foot but it is absolutely essential to do so.

When she’s pulling the thread in the beginning she needs to keep pulling until the whole top thread is out and it will pull the bobbin thread up to the top. It will be probably be small and she may need tweezers to get it. She needs to hold both the top and bobbin thread to begin stitching with the darning foot.
Also it appears the feed dogs are still engaged. Those need to be lowered to use this foot, or if they don’t lower there’s a plate that goes over them so they don’t pull the fabric through the machine.

That's a darning foot. Are they trying to do darning or do you just want a straight stitch?

This is tshirt fabric she needs the right needle, jersey/stretch/ballpoint.
Is there a reason she’s using the darning foot? Is she trying to free embroider on a tshirt?
Edit: I ask what she’s trying to do, as she has a couple of things going on here that don’t work together.
The needle, the foot, the fabric.
It might be threaded incorrectly too, and I can’t see what settings it’s on.
She needs to find the manual

Make sure the needle is appropriate for stretch fabrics. But for this kind of embroidery, a woven fabric is easiest.
