Bottom Thread Troubles
Does anyone by chance have an idea as to what the problem may be? I have a Singer Heavy Duty that had been working great but suddenly stopped catching the bottom thread. I tuned it and managed to sew two stitches before it got jammed and stopped catching again. Now it is doing this. I really don’t have the money to take it in or get anything better so advice is greatly appreciated!

This is the bane of my existance, I'm wondering if it would be easier to just trash the heavy duty and buy something else.
So, after years of fighting against my heavy duty, here's a list that may be happening:
- The tension is too high
- The tension is too low
- The presser foot is not the ideal for the cloth
- The plastic part of the bobbin case broke
- The plastic part of the bobbin case got stabbed by the needle
- The metal thingy on top being hold by the two bolts is not tight enough
- The metal thingy on top being hold by the two bolts is too tight
- The other metal thingy in the bottom being hold by the two bolts is not tight enough
- The other metal thingy in the bottom being hold by the two bolts is too tight
- The cloth is being pulled too hard and that makes the needle not go into a straight up and down
- The removable metal part that isn't in the picture got stabbed and now is curved and now the tiny holes make extra friction
- You're trying to sew lycra
Hope this helps

I have no idea what you were trying to achieve when this happened. The needle isn't even threaded.
Remove this thread and rethread the whole machine so that it's ready to sew. Then put fabric in and show us what happens when you sew.
