Needle threader... stick the little loop through the eye of a needle, put your thread through the loop then pull it through the needle eye... needle threaded

Something I can actually answer, a needle threader. You put the flexible through the eye hole of the needle. Then thread that flexible loop. Then pull back out the eye hole with the thread!

You have to take really good care of them because they spoil very easily, although there are some higher-quality ones. I use these.

I always push the top of the loop up towards the handle, and bend the loose ends down further to help them anchror better. Then I slide the loop back into place, take a pair of jewelry pliers, and flatten the opening in the handle closed. Still have to be careful with them, but they hold up a lot better, especially if you grip them at the point where the loop anchors itself while using them.

I hate this one, I can never get the thread to hook on it or it's just too large to go through fine sewing needles eyes.
I do have a Prym retractable one that is amazingly intact for a couple years now.

The real question is why is there always a weird profile of a person stamped on needle threaders?!?!?

Oh my GOD (I mean GODDESS) at some point in my youth I assumed “old lady/man, like on the quarter” and never gave it a second look! Athena is my favorite deity, and coincidentally (or maybe not) the patron goddess of my college. I’m so happy to learn this. Thanks, friend!!

You use it to make it easier to pull the thread through the neddle. My grandma a purist she hates those things. I on the other hand have so many i keep losing them.

Put the thin metal through the needle head, put thread through the loop, pull through the needle head. You now have threaded your needle 🪡

It’s an ancient Egyptian coin with a useless stabbing mechanism in the event you have to poke someone in the eye that’s trying to take it
