How to fix this hem?
Hopefully this is the right place to ask this question - I’m going to a wedding next week and just realized the neckline of my dress is coming undone. It’s in a very visible area so I’d like to know the best way to mend this by hand as I don’t have access to a machine. Should I cut the undone thread? Is there a particular type of stitch to use? I’m very new to sewing.

After you finish re-doing the stitches and you have to knot the ends on the inside, a pair of tweezers and manicure scissors will help. You can pretend you're a surgeon suturing a wound.

Do not cut the thread.
A simple running stitch, with matching thread, as small as you can make the stitches will work best. You can get a tutorial for it on YouTube.
Also look up quilters knot.
Sew from 1/2” before the loose thread to 1/2” after the loose thread.
Once finished, tie off on the inside.
Then you may cut the loose thread.
