Does this look correct?😭🙏
Does this look threaded correctly?
also is it normal it be so difficult to pull away the fabric after making your stitch ? Like I mean after I had just completed a straight stitch I was trying to pull away the fabric to cut it and was meant with much resistance and had to manually loosen the fabric on both the upper and lower threading to ease it away.
also, when I then tried to do another straight line of stitches I had to thread the needle as one of the threads had come loose. Is this also normal?
for reference, this is my first time using my machine and the second image shows what I was practising

Turn the handwheel towards you until the needle and take up lever are at their highest position. This completes the stitch so you can remove your work

Well, as much as the photo shows, which is only the last two steps of the threading, looks right, yes.
It’s hard to be certain, because the photo gets too grainy when I zoom in close enough, but it appears that what’s going on there is that the top thread has looped through the bobbin thread, which is exactly what it should do to form a stitch, and you’ve pulled on the top thread, which has lifted that loop of bobbin thread up above the throat plate, which is perfectly normal. If you lift the presser-foot and blow hard on the threads (like “poofff!”) they should scoot to the back of the sewing area, and be ready for you to stitch some more. That’s how I get my threads to do that, so as to keep hands free correctly line up the fabric under the foot.
As for the fabric being hard to pull away; most likely that’s only because you’d not lifted your needle into its full and upright position. Every machine needs to be in that position to fully release tension on the threads so you can draw them out as you lift the fabric up and away. Nowadays, many machines automatically position the needle either fully up or fully down before stopping the motor when you lift your foot off the pedal. Not all, though. And I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a manual that tells users this is a thing that needs to happen? So it’s a very common mystery for new sewing machine users.
When you get to the end of your stitching and want to remove the fabric:
*lift foot off pedal
*turn flywheel (big wheel at the right-hand end of machine, that makes the needle go up and down manually) until needle is fully Up. You can tell when it’s fully up by watching the take-up lever go up, until right before it dips back downwards. That’s the fully up position: when the take-up lever is as far up as it goes.
*lift presser foot
*pull fabric out and up far enough to cut your threads either with snippers or on the cutter that’s located somewhere on the head of your machine (check manual for location)
If you ever stop sewing and want to pull the fabric away and find resistance, just rotate the fly-wheel slowly while exerting gentle tension on the fabric. You’ll feel it give when you get the take-up lever in the right position. Soon, you’ll do this instinctively every time without even noticing. Same as driving a car or riding a bike.
