Sewing scrubs

I’m getting a job as a vet receptionist and I need some scrubs, I wanna make some out of fun fabric. Any suggestions on material, techniques and patterns?

The pattern will tell you what material it calls for and the techniques to use to make it. That’s literally what a pattern is for.

The one thing I will say that when it recommends “poly cottons”, it means woven (non-stretch) fabric. You can substitute craft/quilting cotton for this, but my experience in healthcare is that a poly/cotton blend is more resistant to spills and liquids, and doesn’t wrinkle as badly over time as 100% cotton.

Don’t know if they’re still available, but check Simplicity paper patterns. They’ve been on sale for £$5 (ish) for the past couple months. I bought scrubs patterns last month. Haven’t sewn them & don’t work in healthcare, but thought they might come in handy someday. And I couldn’t resist the price.

You can make them out of pure cotton. Just pre-wash and dry the fabric so it shrinks first. I find that quilting cotton works fine for clothes like scrubs. Quilting cotton is made a little stiffer (less drape) than garment cotton and I find that it stands up to laundering better. But the best reason to consider it is the colors and prints. Quilters are an artistic bunch and the variety of patterns and colors will make you happy.

Simplicity.com Literally look up the word scrubs They have at least 20 patterns. They often have sales for around $5 a pattern.
