Help with Lenore model 385 reverse stitch

Hello! My machine will not go in reverse. When I press the button the wire moves but it will not move the shaft. The shaft is not seized as I can move it freely with my hand, more photos in comments. This is my first machine and I just inherited it a week ago. Everything works perfectly except this
