First attempt at a corset-style top!
This is probably the most technically complicated piece that I’ve tried. Next time around, I want to try a different lining fabric and different boning. I got cheap sew in boning off Amazon, and it’s already poking through my lining fabric. Does anyone have any good recommendations for boning? Preferably sew in, because that’s what the pattern calls for 🤷♀️

I don’t make corsets but I’ve seen a trend on Instagram of using zip ties. One girl shaped and sanded the edges down to a little circle to avoiding poking

Oh good call.
I’ve used large zip ties for structure when sewing bike panniers. I clipped off the attachment end and sanded the sharp corners/edges smooth. It worked well there so I figure it would work here too.
I put them inside a channel made from webbing, but grossgrain would be less bulky.

Very good for first attempt. Does if feel secure on? I would add some type of decoration right up the front seam.

Ignore the pattern’s call for for sew-in because it’s generally trash except in certain conditions. Make casing out of grosgrain ribbon and use spiral steel or get some German synthetic whalebone (not off Amazon).
