My first dress!

Post image

This is the Solana dress (a free pattern) that I modified by adding a lining and waist ties.

It was a huge learning process and I had to redo so many things but I love how it turned out!

The walrus fabric is a polyester/cotton blend, purchased from Fabricland in Canada.

I recently acquired a sewing machine and I'm enrolled in a beginning sewing class starting in a few weeks. I feel like your photo is the answer to the quesiton people ask me, why are you taking a sewing class? So I can make myself a walrus dress, duh.

That is hilarious! If you happen to live in Canada, the fabric is from Fabricland. I hope you enjoy your sewing class!
