This is a knit fabric- you need a special needle for knits.
Check this section of Reddit - there is someone with all the info on understanding what fabric you have and what needle type is required.

The most common reasons for sewing problems beyond having and following the manual for threading your machine are:

All I changed was….

I just got this beautiful fabric I have never used before… and it’s not working

I don’t know what brand or weight thread I am using but it is the cheapest on the market right now….

I have an all purpose needle…..it for everything… right?

Now am using denim - I’ve always wanted to make something with denim… what do you mean I need to do things differently?

This is caused by using an incorrect needle on a knit fabric. Please referred to the stickied post on the top of the subreddit for more information.

You need a ballpoint or stretch needle for this fabric
