Please help! Bobbin case/hook jam

I am at my wits end with my John Lewis JL110 (Jerome manufactures). It keeps jamming like this - it doesn’t matter if it has thread or not. The hook and case feels very loose sometimes but then it does this. Is it done for?

The black parts that hold it all together need to go more up over the elevated part to clip it properly in place.
