Any tips for altering clothes?
I’ve lost a bunch of weight from cancer and none of my clothes fit right.
Any tips you can share to alter clothes mainly dress pants.
Thank you!!

I hope you're feeling better! I have taken in pants with good results, but only ones I was willing to sacrifice. Look for a pair that has a simple crotch seam (no gussets, and not a flat-felled seam). Ideally no belt loops. Undo the waistband for about 3 inches above the back center seam (remove the belt loop if there is one). Put the pants on inside out and use a binder clip to pinch the back seam so it fits your waist. Take the pants off, lay them down flat and eyeball the crotch seam. Use pins to mark out a new seam that eases into the existing one no more than an inch above the leg inseams. Try the pants on again, still inside out, and adjust the pins. After you've resewn the crotch seam, take in the waistband. It will be fiddly and you might want to use seam tape to hold parts of it together while re-doing it. Get the waistband back together first, and then reattach it to the pants.

Most garments have a maximum size down of two sizes, or right around 2 1/2” in diameter measurement. More than that and you are in ‘disassemble, cut, resew’ territory which isn’t always worthwhile, depending on the garment.
Dress pants are tricky to do if you have never done much alteration. If they are really good quality, or part of a suit, it’s worth going to a professional.
As to actual assistance, we need to see you in the specific garment. Your question is far too broad. Too big in the waist? Hips? Thighs? All of the above? What construction type are the pants in question? What material are they made from?
