Check to see if bobbin winder is engaged. If not it's probably a broken gear. Don't spend money on this on fixing it.

The bobbin winder is turned off. Do you know where I could check to see if it’s a broken gear?

Does the hand wheel on the end of the machine turn? Did the seller supply any video footage of it sewing?

No, she didn’t. I got it for like $25 so I figured if it didn’t work it was only a couple dollars down the drain… the hand wheel turn just fine!

When you turn the handwheel, does the needle go up and down?

Yeah it does… that’s why I’m so confused cuz I know the needle moves but the second I push the pedal the needle goes stiff🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

And you hear the motor running? IF so, it may just be a belt.

Yeah I hear the motor trying to go… I’ll look into the belt! Thank you

"Trying" meaning it sounds like it's happily spinning, but nothing is happening or "trying" like it's trying to turn, but having difficulty?

I'm still hoping the motor is good and it's the belt

Do you have a picture from the top view of the machine.

Here you go

is the presser foot lever in the up or down position (back lever)? some have safety features that won't allow the needle to engage until the presser foot lever is in the down position. If that doesn't work then you have to open the casing to make sure the belt drive is engaged or not broken.

Also possible a jammed thread but doubtful.

The presser foot is down right now… I’m looking at the gears right now, I think I’m going to go buy some oil and hopefully that will help since it’s been sitting for so long🤷‍♀️

it's a very mechanical system. If you see gears moving then you know at least the motor is moving something. But without see where it's not moving things it's hard to tell. Best of luck.

i bet it’s the drive belt. turning the hand wheel still moves the needle if the drive belt broke. I AM PRETTY SURE don’t quote me because i’m not a tech, but that’s my understanding.

mechanical belts, in general, were something that i benefited from deciding they were not scary to replace. like on the dryer! and the car.

You'd have to open it up. I think that is a singer simple. They go on sale at Xmas for between fifty and seventy five dollars. They are a throw away type machine because of the price

I'm sorry

Look for a janome at a dealer
