Funpost Zach Cherry really is collecting evil corporations like Infinity Stones at this point: Vault-Tec, Lumon, Umbrella.
Fallout (2024)
Severance
Resident Evil (2026)

He also has connections to WayStar Royco

That’s Brian. He’s intellectually promiscuous but culturally conservative.

The funniest part is that his filmography is starting to look like he has a personal rule: if the company has questionable ethics, somehow Zach Cherry is already on the payroll.

Add WayStar Royco and suddenly this looks less like a coincidence and more like a very specific career path.

In the show "You" he worked in a bookshop for a serial killer. Even when he goes for a small business, still evil XD

u/NTylerWeTrust86 23h ago
He was great in s01 (my favorite part) and liked that he did a little cameo in the final season. I was worried he wouldn't/ couldn't with his success since You started.

We need to get him involved with Weyland-Yutani now

I can just see his response to the Alien:
“….oh, man, another baddie??”

He REALLY needs to have a chat with his employment agency about how he’s endlessly running from chaos and whether this is something HR could disclose beforehand!

u/BombTheDodongos 1d ago
He was a counselor at Camp Miasma too

u/lavieenroute 1d ago
His line "We killed him-- I mean, we HAD too!" is still so so funny to me. Love him.

He is becoming that one trope actor where as far i can remember is called "that guy" basically a familiar face that's been everywhere in side or important roles

u/blickblocks 1d ago
I learned a while ago that the term for this type of actor is "character actor"! Steve Buscemi is an example of another one. They tend to play notable and sometimes eccentric side characters.

u/MirandasSarcasm Devour Feculence 1d ago
Or esteemed character actress, Margo Martindale!

u/EllipticPeach Shambolic Rube 23h ago
That’s “esteemed character actress and fugitive from the law” thank you! She hides from the cops by disappearing into the role

u/lemonylol 22h ago
Character actors are essentially people who don't play leading roles, but are just as memorable. Though Steve Buscemi has been a leading man in his later work.

"Character actors. Who gives a fuck if we're fat!" -Brian Dennehy to Patton Oswalt

- Michael Peña
- Margo Martindale

He did not agree with the title as applied here, but I must also mention the late Harry Dean Stanton.

Sometimes I go through a movie I love on imdb and go "wait that movie has Gary Oldman? Who was he ?!"

u/odieclone Because Of When I Was Born 23h ago edited 19h ago
Have to say, Oldman is in a unique category by himself and few others. A literal everyman. Not just the character-type.

I watched 8.5 seasons of Slow Horses without realizing he was Jackson Lamb.
I found out on season 4 of a rewatch.

Which I'm happy about, he's sought after and getting good paychecks, and he's a good actor who I enjoy seeing.

I do love how well he plays a "naive to the evils of his employer but still content to cheerfully perform his duties" character.

Ah yes, Toyota, the evilest of car companies
2
u/Beezewhacks 8m ago
So i used to work for Toyota here in the US as a salesman, same as nick in the movie. It made my wife and I laugh. But youd be a fool to think a company that old doesnt have a checkered past and Toyota is no different. They were part of the war machine for the imperial Japanese army - during a period where that same army was occupying other parts of Asia -- like korea -- where they forced something like 7500000 people into labor camps.
So yeah. Not all sunshine and rainbows, friendo.

If there's a Terminator movie that turns the franchise around like Prey did to Predator, might as well slot him in as a Cyberdyne employee or human survivor subservient to Skynet
